On the morning of September 9, the inauguration ceremony of the Sino-Italian College of Innovation Design and Technology of Guizhou Education University was grandly held in the Auditorium of Yifu Building.

Bai Zhen, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education; Ye Sen, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education; and Du Xinlei, Deputy Director (Acting) of the European and American Affairs Division of the Guizhou Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, attended the ceremony. Giulio Guidi, President of Istituto Pantheon Design&Technology, Italy; Andrea Giansanti, Director of Academic Affairs; Wang Yuntao, Director of China International Affairs; and the project advisory team traveled to Guizhou to attend the event. All university leaders, heads of functional departments and secondary colleges, and faculty and student representatives from the Sino-Italian College of Innovation Design and Technology and relevant colleges witnessed the important moment. The ceremony was presided over by Zhao Shouying, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President (at the bureau-director-general level) of Guizhou Education University.

The ceremony commenced smoothly with spectacular distinctive cultural performances, fully showcasing the cultural charm of Colorful Guizhou and creating a strong atmosphere of openness, inclusiveness, and shared progress.

Zhan Yong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Guizhou Education University, delivered a welcome address. He extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the leaders from higher-level departments and the guests from the Italian partner institution. He noted that the Sino-Italian College of Innovation Design and Technology is Guizhou Province’s first undergraduate-level Sino-Italian cooperative education institution and a landmark achievement in the university’s in-depth implementation of the national strategy for opening up education and its advancement of internationalized education, marking an important milestone. He expressed the hope that the new college will remain true to its original aspiration of talent cultivation, deepen innovative educational practices, and cultivate more high-caliber internationalized talents who can bridge China and the world and serve local development.

Giulio Guidi, President of Istituto Pantheon Design &Technology, Italy, delivered a speech. He introduced the institution’s educational heritage and disciplinary strengths, stating that the two institutions have broad prospects for cooperation. He noted that the Italian side will continue to deliver high-quality teaching resources, deepen educational and teaching collaboration, and jointly cultivate design talents with global vision and professional innovation capabilities.

Bai Zhen, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, delivered guiding remarks. He stated that the establishment of the Sino-Italian College of Innovation Design and Technology is an important breakthrough in opening up education in the fields of arts and technology in the province. He hoped that the college will give full play to the advantages of integrating Chinese and foreign resources, operate at a high standard, cultivate talent with high quality, and help advance the internationalization of higher education in Guizhou and high-quality regional economic and social development.

At the ceremony, Wang Shuqian, President of Guizhou Education University, and Giulio Guidi, President of Istituto Pantheon Design &Technology, Italy, jointly unveiled the Sino-Italian College of Innovation Design and Technology, marking its official launch and operation. Leaders, Chinese and international guests, and faculty and student representatives in attendance witnessed the event.

The inauguration ceremony was successfully concluded, opening a new journey for the university’s internationalized education. In the future, the university will continue to deepen all-round cooperation between the two institutions, consolidate cooperation platforms for talent cultivation, academic exchange, and research innovation, strive to build a distinctive benchmark for Sino-foreign cooperative education, and empower the high-quality development of the university and the region with a new pattern of educational opening-up.
